I'm a California kid, born and raised, and I intend to stay until I can't afford to live here anymore - which should be pretty soon, the way things are going. I live in Oxnard with my beautiful fiancee, my two parakeets, and way too many Disney theme park collectibles. I've been working for the Federal government for the last 11 years and served in the Navy for 4 years before that - I've always been attracted to working more for my country and the greater good than for myself and the greater wallet. Secretly, though, I harbor dreams of being a non-fiction writer (as soon as I can find something I can write about that will interest someone other than me) and/or a Disney Imagineer (once I discover what talent I actually posess that might convince them to hire me).
I like to think of myself as a cynical optimist - I want to believe the best in people, but I'm not surprised when they don't live up to my beliefs. I blame this on continual exposure to both Disney and MAD Magazine. Politically, I grew up conservative, but then came to my senses; figures that I'd turn "blue" just as the red of the country is going "red".
In my all too scarce free time, I do a lot of reading (mainly non-fiction except for Harry Potter, Douglas Adams, and Tom Clancy (guess the conservatism didn't entirely wear off), I walk long distance (done three marathons, gonna do more), and I write about Disney history and Disney theme parks.
